Baptist History

I believe that the Baptist doctrine is the closest to what the Bible teaches than any other church out there. I have visited and studied other churches and found out for myself what their denominations taught and I have to say, none of them come close to being as Biblical accurate as the Baptists.

I love church history and I love the fact that the Baptists were never part of the Protestant Reformation. They descended from a group of Bible believers that were never part of the Catholic church. After the pagans infiltrated the church and began to take control, the early Bible believers were persecuted and called heretics for there beliefs. They were tortured and murdered for their beliefs and their churches and Bibles were burned. That isn't surprising considering what the Catholics did during the Crusades.

If you want to know where the Baptists came from then this video is one that you need to hear. This is an excerpt from a series that was taught at First Baptist Church in New Philadelphia, Ohio back in 1994 called Church History and in it Mark Trotter gives no only an excellent, in depth look at the History of the Church, but also a fantastic lesson on Baptist History.

One of the reasons I became a Baptist was their close interpretation of the Bible. Baptist doctrine comes straight from the Bible. We do not have committees, or denomination or a dictator leader that decides our beliefs.

We believe that the Bible interprets itself, that you don't need to go to an outside source to find out what it is saying. The Bible was given to us so that we, the common man, can read it, and know what God how God wants us to live and how He wants us to worship Him and how to have a relationship with Him.

1John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

1John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

Also check out my blog at: true Church History and Baptist History is a bit difficult because most of the top ranking church history sites are Catholic in origin. When you do a search, make sure you go past the first few pages to find more accurate accounts of church history and Baptist History. Just because a site is listed first on Google, doesn't mean that they are the best source or most accurate. A good Web Designer can cause a site to get a good listing on Google and other search engines regardless of the site's information.
