A short documentary surrounding the Spiritual 'Shouter' Baptist Liberation Celebrations. Spiritual 'Shouter' Baptist practices were banned in Trinidad in 1917 by conservative British Colonialists, who criticised the religion for combining traditionl West African practises with Christianity. These Baptists were called 'Shouters' due to their nature of their religious ceremonies, shouting, drumming, loud singing is prominent and there are moments when these Baptists 'catch the spirit'. The ban was repealed in 1951, but 'Shouter' Baptists for decades suffered oppression from practising freely.
